Has anybody worked at a retaurant and had a hard time getting adjusted?

ive gone to a sushi restaurant for the last year and i love it. so when i needed a second job i got hired there on the spot because i know all the workers there since i go so often. Tonite is only my fourth nite working. but it;s been really hard because its a small place and the cusotmers sit in one large table around the sushi chefs. i get them their drinks but the customers order straight frm the sushi chefs so when its time to charge them we have to ask the sushi chefs wat they ordered. Im hispanic and speak spanish and english fluently, but all the shef's are japanese and its really hard to understand them with their thick accents. i have to ask them to repeat themselves all the time and i feel like i frustrate them. Is it gona get any better or is this just not the place for me. all the servers are japanese so they all understand each other better. do i gve uo?
