Do liberal understand that in the English language we use "figures of speech" ?

The liberal media is whining about Michele Bachmann using the term "gangster government". She was using a figure of speech known as hyperbole. Her meaning is that Washington is robbing us through excessive taxation. I think the media is discrediting itself by trying to paint the Tea Party as extremists. Its the media that is moving to the extreme left in its feverish pursuit of Barack Obama!
